World record holder and marathon swimmer, Andy Donaldson, who recently set the record of swimming 55km in 11 hours and 51 minutes through the crocodile-infested Ord River in Western Australia, is all set to embark on a much tougher challenge. Donaldson is preparing another swim, this time with 35,000 crocodiles.
The British-Australian man is all set to participate in the Lake Argyle Swim, which takes place every year on the first Saturday of May. It will be hosted at Western Australia's largest man-made reservoir. Donaldson will be among the ones participating in the challenge.
According to ABC Australia, the lake, which lies in Australia's Kimberley region, is home to 35,000 freshwater crocodiles. This race begins in deep water, and participants can race about 10 or 20 kilometers with the finish line situated in Bamboo Cove.
The year's swim under heightened security following a rare crocodile encounter just 24 hours ago, as reported by Asher Gibbon from Perth Now. A man and three rescuers were bitten by a suspected freshwater crocodile.
In response, organizers implemented a modified course for today's race to bypass the incident area and ensure safety at the Bamboo Cove finish line.

As for the 35-year-old swimmer, he was elated following the 'Dam to Dam' challenge. His success fueled the decision to tackle a more grueling challenge just 4 days later.
Donaldson Elated With His 'Dam-to-Dam Challenge'
Donaldson was very happy with his record-breaking 'Dam-to-Dam Challenge.’ He highlighted that the challenge was to promote the town of Kununurra, which sits on the river.
“I'm over the moon," he said in a press release shared with PEOPLE. "It was an incredible experience and almost surreal swimming through truly magical lands, the red rocks, the gorges, I reckon better than swimming in the Grand Canyon. This swim was about inspiring others and shining a spotlight on this beautiful place.”
Donaldson further gave his take on this swim, and he had some major praise.
“I’ve been fortunate to swim all over the world, and what we have here is truly spectacular. This is the best swim I’ve ever done, without a doubt."
He also made sure to give his appreciation to his team for their support.
“I had such an amazing, knowledgeable team on the water with me, and when times got tough, they helped me get through it," he concluded.
Do you think he will be able to set another record?
