The 2026 European Aquatics Championships will take place in Paris, France, from 31 July to 16 August 2026. Europe’s best aquatic athletes will compete in five sports: swimming, diving, artistic swimming, high diving, and open water swimming. It is one of Europe’s biggest aquatic sports events.

Athletes will compete for 80 medals. The championships will last more than two weeks, but each sport will have its own competition dates. Artistic swimming and diving will start on 31 July.

Open water swimming will run from 4 to 8 August. High diving will take place on 7 and 8 August. Swimming events will be held from 10 to 16 August.

The Paris Aquatic Centre will host the swimming, diving, and artistic swimming events. The open water swimming and high diving events will take place at Grenelle and Pont de Bir-Hakeim, with beautiful views of Paris.

One of the biggest moments at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships is the debut of para swimming. As per Wikipedia, the championships will include para swimming for the first time.

The programme will feature four multi-class medal events: the men's and women's 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle. This is an important step to make European aquatic sports more inclusive.
